Mexican American families continued to visit the St Anthony chapel where it was located originally. My grandparents, aunts and uncles would visit. My late husband also remembers visiting the chapel off Lorenz .

Mr. Lopez takes me back to my own childhood in the Segundo Barrio of El Paso, Texas. I remember back in the 50s seeing the ice man on our block selling ice blocks, or the vegetable man with his cart selling all kinds of fresh vegetables. Beautiful paintings and memories. Thanks for sharing his work.

Will there be any stories from the Segundo Barrio in the future?

Thank you Prisilla. Good luck on your campaign. My grandparents came to SA from Benavides--near Alice. It seems we have family in Alice--very distant--many of them have passed.

BTW--What town do you live in?

Best, Ricardo

Thank you. It is a good idea, but it will require another trip to Elpaso. At this point, not likely to go out to El Paso this year. I will keep your idea in mind.

Thank you so much for your contributions to our people. I aim to do the same in our Coastal Bend town. I am running for city council, I lived in SA for many years....returned home in 2020. I learned two of my great-uncles served on Alice City Council in the 60's. Continuing the fight for our 'Buena Gente'!!!
