Dr. Romo, your depiction of the murals recognizing our beloved Latinas, especially Jovita Idar is a grand tribute. The accompanying artwork is both colorful, inspiring and very meaningful. In which, there are many themes and reminders that our women are sacred, exemplary, courageous, inspirational and the lifeblood of our people. From the artwork you used to honor these women...I soulfully gathered that the colors in all the artwork are never-ending metaphors and symbols for power, knowledge, love, vision, movement, despair, strength and faith. The flutter and expanse of the Mexican dress is the energy that drives our generational traditions and facilitates our human and cultural movement.
