The tragic shooting of 19 children and two teachers in Uvalde, Texas this week leaves us all heartbroken. No words can ease the pain and suffering of the families and the community that knew them. Over the past five years, Harriett and I have been supporting the Uvalde public library, El Progreso Memorial Library. Today we call on our friends to help that library provide the books and summer activities needed to support the children of Uvalde over the coming years. The library is one of the central public spaces of Uvalde, and children go to the library’s children's section as a safe area to read and learn. We hope our donations can establish an endowment to enable the library to reach every child in Uvalde.
